Naan brauð
Bread

Indian naan bread

1 1/2 dl (150 ml) lukewarm water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp yeast
4 dl (400 ml) white flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp yogurt without flavor
Garam Masala
salt

Mix yeast, water and sugar in a bowl. Lay a damp kitchen towel over the bowl and let it stand for 10 minutes.

Add flour, salt, butter and yogurt and knead to form the dough. Lay a damp kitchen towel over the bowl and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.

Split the dough into 4-6 parts (depending on how big you want the breads) and roll into oval shaped pieces. You can use your hands, no need for a rolling pin. It’s good to season the breads with Garam masala and salt before frying.

Melt the butter on a pan over medium heat and fry the breads for 3-4 minutes before turning them. Then fry them for another 2-3 minutes.
